Location & Access: The Journey is Part of the Experience
Tortuga Lodge is located on Costa Rica’s northeastern Caribbean coast, directly across from the local airstrip and just 10 minutes by boat from Tortuguero town. Since there are no roads into the region, the lodge is accessible via:
✈️ Domestic flight
From San José or other areas of the country. The flight takes 25–30 minutes and lands directly across the canal. ST Collection can coordinate both scheduled flights and private charters.
🛶 Ground transfer + boat
Private transportation from San José or Limón to Caño Blanco dock, followed by a shared or private boat ride to the lodge.
🚗 Mixed transportation
For those traveling independently, you can drive to Caño Blanco and board the daily shared boat (reservation required).
