September is considered a low season in Costa Rica, making it an ideal time to explore the country with greater flexibility. Travelers benefit from increased hotel availability, more personalized experiences, and easier access to tours, allowing for a slower and more immersive way to travel. While the tropical climate brings more rain, it also enhances the landscapes and invites a deeper connection with nature.
Experiencing Costa Rica during this month also meant witnessing the country’s Independence Day celebrations on September 15th. In San José, this moment highlights Costa Rica’s cultural identity, sense of community, and the values behind Pura Vida. The city comes alive through traditions, urban culture, and shared spaces that reflect the heart of the destination.
